Marianne makes books, drawings, and prints under the studio name Huldra Press. The name comes from Scandinavian folklore and describes a woman with a fox’s tail who lives in the woods. She makes original and custom works that incorporate drawing, photography, vintage and natural materials. Natural history, field guides, Shaker objects, folklore, daydreams, the Arctic, libraries, and children’s drawings inspire her work. She has a BFA in Photography and was a Core Fellow at the Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina.
